28-year old righty swinging CF A.J. Pollock made his 2016 debut for the Arizona Diamondbacks last night and he went 0 for 5 with a whiff. Pollock was injured late in spring training and it was a huge blow to the D-Backs on the eve of the 2016 season! In his first four years with the Diamondbacks (2012-2015), Pollock played in 400 games for the D-Backs in which he was 411 of 1,398 (.294 avg, .811 OPS) with 224 runs scored, 37 homers, 146 RBI and 66 stolen bases. He had a true breakout season in 2015 for the D-Backs. He played in 157 games for the Diamondbacks last year and he was 192 of 609 (.315 avg, .865 OPS) with 111 runs scored, 20 homers, 76 RBI and 39 stolen bases. He finished #14 in the MVP voting last year, was an All-Star and he won a Gold Glove Award. To say the D-Backs are happy to have Pollock back is a gigantic understatement!
